A faint hint of her floral fragrance hung in the air. He could still hear the ring
of her laughter as she talked about Swallow Falls. He was happy
she enjoyed the park as much as he did.
—From INN BY THE LAKE
Swallow Falls State Park, a must-see whenever my family and I visit Deep Creek Lake is now the first stop on my Western Maryland book tour the weekend of June 18-19.
I am thrilled to be able to invite readers to visit Friday, June 18, 1-3 p.m. at the entrance of the walking trail to the falls to open my celebration of the publication of INN BY THE LAKE. Two other events are scheduled for Saturday, June 19.
The owner of Deep Creek Lavender Farm has invited me to visit and introduce my book at this magnificent, fragrant place. I’ve been to the farm at the height of lavender season–even wrote about it for my travel blog.
If you are going to be anywhere in Western Maryland in mid-summer I’d recommend stopping by. It’s a magical place. Stop by and see for yourself.

I’m on the schedule for 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, June 19. I’d love to talk to you about lavender, beautiful places to visit in this little corner of heaven, and even tell you everything you want to know about my book. Thinking up some fun things to do, too.
Earlier in the day, I will give a book talk at the Ruth Enlow Library of Garrett County in Oakland (an important town in my book.) I’ll talk about research I did for the book and the places of Garrett County I’ve highlighted in my story. Though the characters and the Broadview Inn are fictitious, the places I describe are some of my favorite places in the whole world. I’ll be speaking at 11 a.m., also on Saturday, June 19.

I’ve been a visitor to the area since the 1970s when I was a beginning skier. Now I bring my grown kids and their snowboards and the place is still as charming as it ever was.
