I have now held my new modern love story in my hands. The paperback edition went in to production last Monday and I quickly ordered mine.
But I wasn’t as quick as my daughter who already has received hers. She rushed over to my house with a copy for me to see. And to sign. I’ll never get over the thrill of adding my signature to a book I wrote.
Champagne Books has produced a beautiful book. I love the cover’s color palette with the images of my wonderful Luke and Amanda with a hint of Deep Creek Lake in the background.
Inn By The Lake tells the story of two hard-working people who just might fall in love at a mountainside inn—until they discover she’s working for a developer who wants to buy the inn and he’s the son of the innkeepers who don’t want to sell. Can the inn’s past promise Amanda and Luke a future?
There’s a fun bit of true history in the book, the honeymoon of a president and his first lady, a lot of movie references and the innkeepers who I hope you’ll fall in love with. They are an homage to a real couple I met while I was writing Frommer’s guides. Hospitable, fun, and sweet.
I’m so proud of this, my first contemporary romance. I hope you’ll love it the way I do.
