I was totally honored to find my book on a summer reading list with some great Baltimore writers in a column published this week.
As the CBSLocal.com writer Joel Furchess said: “For your summer reading, try Tilghman’s “Divided Loyalties,”a story placed in the Civil War era, and featuring a narrative of a battlefield nurse and the soldier who loves her as she struggles to reconcile working for the North as a girl from the South.”
Honestly, I never thought my Maryland girl was a girl from the South but I’m happy with Mr. Furchess’ recommendation.
The other writers who were recommended are so outstanding, I am awed to be included with them. They are
Madison Smartt Bell, a Goucher College professor, has written numerous award winning books.
Laura Lippman is one of my favorites. I’ve read everything she has written and consider her character Tess Monaghan one of my friends.
Jessica Anva Blau, a second Goucher professor, who writes deeply felt stories with a touch of humor.
Dee Lawrence, a Baltimore attorney whose debut novel GOTTA LET IT GO was a Next Generation Indie BookAward Finalist.
What are you reading this summer? I think I might start with Dee’s book. Or Laura’s SUNBURN, or…well, I don’t know.
If you want to read mine, you can find it at Black Rose Writing, or, of course, Amazon.
