The Baltimore Book Festival is set to begin Friday morning at 11. If you love books and writers, words and sentences, grammar and punctuation, pizza and Asian steamed buns (I always have to mention food), this is your festival.

The Maryland Romance Writers tent is on Light Street near the Visitors Center. The schedule is packed and jammed with talks, panel discussions and book signings.

Meet new writers and established writers, find out how you can start writing your own novel. Buy a book, get it signed. Take home some swag.

And do come and say hello. In addition to setting up Friday and Saturday (we all have to do our part), I’m participating in two historical fiction panels and, as previously announced Book Cover Bingo.

Bringing the Past to Life: Historical Romance Style

With Hamilton: An American Musical, Outlander, The Crown, and other pop culture historicals, the past has never been more in style. Award winning and multi-published authors explore the challenges and rewards of finding the right style for writing believable historical romance.
