Recently the UMBC Alumni Association asked me a few questions for a “Meet a Retriever” feature they run online. It appears here.
I was delighted to answer the call because it gave me the chance to thank the University of Maryland Baltimore County, my alma mater, a chance to thank my professors, fellow students, and the whole university for helping me figure out my path in life.
Who gets anywhere with an English degree? Me. I’ve used my liberal arts education every day of my life. (I ought to thank Mrs. Brown for teaching hopeless me to type back at Spalding High School. I type over 100 words a minute now, she would be shocked to learn.)
I’ve spent the year learning the value of saying thank you. How nice to have a chance to thank my college for a great education and an all-around wonderful education.

so fun! What a great testimony to the university and their successes!
